Job summary

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience with children, and valid First Aid and CPR certificates within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience working with children in an organized setting.
• Completion of two years of higher education study OR possession of an Associates or higher level degree may substitute for required experience.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates, required within 30 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs paraprofessional instructional activities and supportive tasks in support of a special education classroom.
• Assists in presenting learning materials and works with individuals or small groups to reinforce lessons.
• Maintains records and observes student progress, behavior, and safety, reporting to certificated staff.
• Provides clerical support and assists in preparing instructional materials.
