Job summary

Anova Education is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Special Education to support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for students with IEPs in a school setting. The role focuses on confidentiality, behavior support, and assistive technology, with a Monday–Friday schedule and some after-hours needs.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of FERPA, and ability to work in a team while fostering a safe learning environment. CPI/ CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of FERPA and confidentiality mandatory.
• Experience with or willingness to obtain CPI, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Ability to work in a team and support diverse learners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
• Ability to motivate and supervise students; maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assists with strategies for implementing behavioral intervention plans.
• Prepares materials and organizes classroom procedures to meet lesson needs.
• Maintains confidentiality and accurate records; supports IEP processes.
• Promotes student independence and assists with health-related student needs.
• Contains and communicates with families and staff to support student learning.
• Assists with assistive technology and AAC devices as needed.
• Participates in professional development and school initiatives.
• Supports student transitions between classes and manages day-to-day activities.
