Job summary

Bentonville Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities under supervision of the Special Education Teacher and/or Principal. The role emphasizes assisting with academic, social, and independence goals, including data collection and materials preparation.

Responsibilities include classroom support, behavior management, non-instructional supervision, and participation in parent conferences or IEP meetings as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• College level coursework completed or required exam per legislation.
• Prior experience working with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students and assist with instructional activities as directed.
• Reinforce learning and implement programs for individual needs.
• Assist with record-keeping and data collection for academic and behavior tracking.
• Support classroom behavioral management and safety.
• Assist with non-instructional duties (lunch, bus, playground).
• Prepare educational materials and participate in IEP-related activities.
• Assist in training paraprofessionals and support staff as needed.
