Job summary

A public school district in North Carolina is looking for an instructional assistant to support special education programs. The candidate will assist in coordinating Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students with disabilities, ensuring a safe learning environment. Responsibilities include aiding teachers with instructional strategies, maintaining confidentiality of student information, and supporting students' unique needs. This role requires at least a high school diploma and progress towards an Associate’s degree in child development or a related field.

Qualifications

• Ability to protect the confidentiality of personal information.
• Experience working with special needs individuals.
• Must hold or be working toward a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assists with behavioral intervention plans.
• Maintains records and reports while ensuring confidentiality.
