Job summary

Amarillo ISD is seeking an Educational Aide to help meet the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities both inside and outside the classroom. The role supports IEP implementation under the supervision of certified staff and a campus principal.

The position requires a High School Diploma, an Associate degree or 48 college credits, and a valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate. Prior experience with students is preferred and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 48 college credits or an Associate degree.
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities and support IEP objectives.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain confidentiality and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher and support individual students or small groups.
• Help students with self-help, behavior management and instructional tasks.
• Support students during transitions, meals, bus, and playground activities.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining student files.
• Participate in district staff development and adhere to safety procedures.
• Maintain professional conduct and protect student confidentiality.
