Job summary

Amarillo Independent School District in Amarillo, Texas is seeking a Special Ed Teaching Assistant District Wide to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom, assist with IEP implementation, self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The role requires a High School Diploma or better, plus credentialing, and offers a full-time schedule with a starting pay of $15.21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Assist with implementing IEPs including self-help, behavior management and instruction programs.
• Work under supervision of principal and certified teacher.
• Meet the district’s academic assessment requirement under ESSA.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with classroom teacher at campus where assigned.
• Provide ongoing student support and/or assistance in the classroom.
• Recognize differences in student needs and adapt methods accordingly.
• Assist students in academic tasks and daily routines.
• Ensure student safety and manage behavior as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district safety protocols.
