Job summary

Holmes Elementary School in Mesa is seeking an Instructional Assistant Special Education II to support certified teachers in monitoring and instruction of students with IEPs. This role assists with daily living activities, classroom tasks, and data collection, under supervision, to promote student success.

The position is full-time at 32.5 hours per week with a base hourly rate of $19.89, with benefits such as sick leave, holidays, retirement, health and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required at hire, OR pass the ParaPro Test.
• Previous experience and record of effectiveness in similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work under teacher’s direction and reinforce objectives.
• Assist in development of instructional materials and maintenance of classroom.
• Assist in data collection on academic and behavior goals as instructed.
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Perform clerical tasks to support the teacher and maintenance of student files.
