Job summary

Owensboro High School in Owensboro, Kentucky seeks an Instructional Assistant II to support Special Education programs, including autism services. This role reports to the principal and requires a high school diploma or GED and para-educator qualifications.

You will tutor students, assist in documentation of progress, prepare materials, help with small-group instruction, and support classroom management and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Passing Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 college hours.
• Prior experience with children preferred.
• Criminal records check completed per Kentucky law.
• Demonstrates competent language skills and effective communication.
• Good attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with instruction and tutoring.
• Prepare materials and organize equipment.
• Support documentation of pupil progress and assessment.
• Assist in small-group instruction and behavior support.
• Help with field trips and classroom activities.
