Job summary

Douglas ESD in Roseburg, OR seeks a Special Education Instructional Assistant for Douglas Early Intervention / ECSE. This role works 155 days per year, typically 4 days per week with occasional Fridays, and 7.5 hours per day; Summers off.

Starting salary ranges from $21.52 to $27.72 per hour, based on verifiable experience. The position supports students with disabilities under teacher guidance, assisting instructional activities, data collection, IEPs/IFSPs, and supervision in a dynamic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working in EI/ECSE with children with special needs preferred.
• Experience as instructional assistant preferred.
• Willing to learn and use Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS).

Responsibilities

• Implements individualized programs, activities and supervision of assigned students with disabilities as directed by classroom teacher.
• Assist with helping students develop positive interpersonal relationships with peers and adults; promote safety and self-confidence.
• Assist in delivering instructional programs and activities for students with disabilities; manage behavior in challenging settings.
• Attend to students' physical needs and maintain classroom, playground and student areas.
• Prepare and clean up classroom spaces and organize activities to support development.
• Collect data on programs and complete curriculum-based assessments as directed.
