Job summary

Justice Resource Institute invites applications for a Special Education English Teacher at Walden Street School in Massachusetts. You will convey passion for helping others, build therapeutic rapport, and support adolescents in academic and life-skill development.

Responsibilities include creating structured lesson plans, collaborating with the Special Education team, attending family and team meetings, and guiding students toward success in academics and personal growth in a trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for Massachusetts DESE licensure for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12 and/or Secondary Education.
• Experience with grades 5–12 preferred.
• Knowledge of the relevant content area.
• Background checks and driving record checks will be performed.

Are you the Special Education English Teacher we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Walden Street School is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Walden provides 24‑hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $94,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be licensed or be eligible to be waived by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5‑12 and/or Secondary Education licensure.
• Relevant experience with grades 5‑12 preferred.
• Knowledge of the relevant content area.
• Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de‑escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
