Job summary

Justice Resource Institute's Littleton Academy in Massachusetts is seeking a Special Education Teacher to deliver trauma-informed education in a residential setting. You will create structured lesson plans, build therapeutic rapport, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet students' academic needs.

The role requires MA DESE Special Education licensure for grades 5-12, with preference for experience with 5–12.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12.
• Relevant experience with grades 5-12 preferred.
• Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement structured lesson plans while building a therapeutic rapport with students.
• Collaborate with the Special Education team to provide the best academics for students.
• Attend meetings with families, collaterals and other teams to address student academic needs.
• Help students develop life skills and a sense of self to be successful in their next steps.

Littleton Academy is a residential treatment setting for latency-aged students that specializes in trauma informed care. Littleton provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $94,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be licensed by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12.
• Relevant experience with grades 5-12 preferred.
• Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
