Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools in Kansas City, Missouri seeks a Special Education Process Coordinator to support the Exceptional Education department across multiple locations. This role emphasizes IDEA compliance, collaboration with principals, and staff coaching to ensure high-quality special education services.

The position reports to the Director of Exceptional Education, with responsibilities including data collection and analysis, professional development planning, and serving as the LEA

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education is required.
• Missouri certification in Special Education.
• Documented knowledge of Special Education process.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications may be appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with principals in the supervision of special education staff and implementation of special education at individual school sites.
• Provide special education teachers and related service providers direct consultation and coaching regarding effective specialized instruction practices.
• Facilitate collection of data and assist in data analysis for program evaluation and planning.
• Assist in planning and providing high quality professional development for special education staff.
• Serve as Local Education Agency representative in IEP and other decision-making meetings regarding individual students.
• Monitor and promote compliance with IDEA regulations, the Missouri Plan for Special Education, and the Local Compliance Plan.
• Collaborate with colleagues outside of special education to ensure seamless support for students with disabilities.
• Use technology effectively to manage documentation requirements.
