IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Co-Teacher to support students with significant cognitive and developmental disabilities. You will work in IDEA RISE classrooms (K-5 or 6-12) with low student-teacher ratios to implement practical curricula and help students gain daily living and vocational skills.

Ideal candidates have 48 college hours, experience with disabilities, and a willingness to pursue Special Education certification.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities preferred.
• Excellent communication with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and support individual student needs.
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under supervision.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans and monitor progress.
• Support students inside and outside the classroom to participate in activities.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, social workers, and therapists as needed.
• Maintain student records in coordination with teachers.
• Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and help develop social skills.
• Assist with daily living activities as required in Life Skills Unit.
• Occasional bus supervision may be required at some campuses.
