Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Two years of college (60 hours) or an Associate's degree.
• Ability to achieve minimum test score on District or State assessment.
• Three satisfactory evaluations in a para-educator role (preferred).
• Job related experience is preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Ability to transfer to other sites based on District needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the instructional program within an assigned classroom and/or school setting.
• Work with individual or small groups of students to assist in academic and social development
• Communicate with administrators, teachers and parents in evaluating student progress and/or implementing student learning objectives
• Implement instructional lessons as needed
• Maintain classroom equipment for instructional purposes
• Collect and utilize student data, as directed, to support student growth
• Develop and maintain a safe and caring classroom and school environment
