Job summary

OakPoint Elementary in Oak Point, Texas is seeking an Instructional Assistant for the Special Education RISE program. You will support teachers with instructional activities and classroom management under supervision of a certified teacher on site.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and a Texas educational aide certificate; experience working with children is preferred. This full-time position reports to the Campus Principal and offers on-site duties across the school day.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assists with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments and work assignments.
• Helps maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Helps with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Helps teacher keep administrative records and prepares required reports.
• Provides orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conducts instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; works with individual students or small groups.
• Helps supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
• Keeps teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Assists with records of individual students.
• Compiles, maintains and files instructional materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
