Job summary

Blount County Board of Education seeks an Instructional Aide to support classroom instruction and supervise students under the guidance of teachers. The role includes assisting in implementing instructional plans, monitoring behavior, and providing information to school personnel.

The assistant will help students with routines, daily living tasks, and accommodations for those with special needs, while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; basic skills competency.
• Associate’s Degree or 48 semester hours/72 quarter hours completed.
• Passing score on Alabama WORKKEYS Assessment (at employee’s expense).

Responsibilities

• Support instructional staff in classrooms and assist with student supervision and behavior.
• Assist in implementing instructional plans and activities under teacher guidance.
• Support students with special needs and help with daily living tasks as required.
• Assist with record-keeping, attendance, and basic clerical tasks.
• Participate in training and in-service sessions as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with students and staff.
