Honor Ridge Academy is seeking a Classroom Assistant to join a state-approved private school for students with disabilities. The role involves supporting teachers, clinicians, and administrators to help students academically, behaviorally, and socially throughout the day.

Minimum of 30 college credits is required, and eligibility to obtain a New Jersey Department of Education Substitute Teacher Certificate is necessary. Training in positive behavioral support and ABA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Training in positive behavioral support and ABA is a plus.
• Applicants must be able to work in a self-contained special education classroom with enthusiasm and dedication.

Responsabilités

• Support the classroom teacher in providing individualized academic and behavioral instruction.
• Provide consistent support and supervision throughout the school day, including classroom activities, transitions, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and school-wide activities.
• Implement classroom and individual student behavior plans as directed by the teacher and administrative team.
• Assist students in developing appropriate replacement behaviors, self-regulation skills, and positive interactions with peers and adults.
• Maintain a calm, supportive, and consistent presence when responding to challenging behaviors.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and communication regarding student progress and behavior.
