Job summary

Union County Educational Services Commission is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Hillcrest Academy - South Campus in Westfield, NJ. This full-time position supports high school students in an innovative program designed to be highly supportive and individualized.

Hours are 8:20 to 2:40 p.m. with benefits including medical/dental, pension enrollment, paid time off, and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and professional development. Available November 2026; closing date 12/31/2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credits in Education or a related field completed at an accredited college or university preferred
• Substitute Teacher certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Education preferred
• Previous experience working with high school students, preferably in an educational setting
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills needed to relate well with students, teaching staff and administration
