Job summary

Ridgefield Park School District is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant (Non-Certificated) to support classroom activities and assist students with disabilities. The position reports to the classroom teacher, principal, or Coordinator of Student Personnel Services.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or higher, and demonstrate the ability to support individualized instruction and communicate with students, parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma; college coursework in education or related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities and to communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff
• Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate special education classroom practices

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities and provide support to students individually or in small groups.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff and maintain professional relationships.
