Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support teachers in elementary and high schools. The role involves assisting in instruction for students with various disabilities and providing one-on-one tutoring and personal care under guidance of a Special Education teacher.

The position requires a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (TASN/NCLB) or completion of the paraprofessional exam, strong knowledge of English, and the ability to follow written and oral

Qualifications

Certification: valid TASN paraprofessional license from ISBE or paraprofessional exam.
Ability to assist in teaching students with various disabilities; follow IEPs.
Good oral and written communication skills; familiarity with classroom tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in reinforcing instruction for students with disabilities per IEPs.
Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal care assistance as needed.
Support teachers with daily activities, notes, record-keeping, and field trips.
