Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc.’s Fairmount School Program in Baltimore is hosting a virtual hiring event on September 24, 3:30 pm–5 pm. We are hiring Classroom Assistants for part-time and full-time roles to support students with disabilities, implement IEPs, and apply ABA/PBIS strategies in classroom and community settings.

Responsibilities include data collection, instructional support, supervision, and participation in meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree in education, special education, or related area preferred.
Previous experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
PCM or CPI training will be provided; certification Practitioner level or higher for PCM recommended.

Responsibilities

Assist the Teacher with instruction and assessment for students with disabilities according to IEPs.
Adhere to behavioral plans and use ABA/PBIS approaches as indicated.
Follow approved physical intervention procedures as trained.
Support skill development and daily living activities in 1:1 and group settings.
Collect and record data in a timely and prescribed manner.
Follow classroom routines and proactive management strategies.
Assist with transportation as needed and operate Institute vans.
Participate in meetings, trainings, and school events.
Support fitness activities including pool/water-based activities.
Prepare materials and support instructional technology.
