Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours at higher education institution.
• MTTC or Basic Skills Test required (Professional Readiness Exam).
• SAT/ACT reading and writing minimum 480 and math 530 acceptable in lieu of some tests.
• ETS Parapro Assessment score 460 required.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate understanding of learners with mental impairments.
• Communicate with students, parents and staff.
• Assist in personal hygiene, toileting, health and fitness, and community living.
• Participate in field trips and home visits when necessary.
• Attend summer or after-school trainings related to meeting needs of learners.
• Respect FERPA privacy rights and promote positive self-esteem and academic growth.
• Ensure safety of students and staff; adapt to emergency changes as directed.
• Perform related duties to support student success and program goals.
• Provide physical strength and stamina for non-violent interventions when necessary.

Formation

High school graduate or equivalent
