Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Criminal history clearance required.
• Knowledge and ability demonstrated through a formal state or local academic assessment.
• Competence in district-required training activities or equivalent training/experience as determined by the Director of Student Achievement.

Responsibilities

• Assists in carrying out individual programs of instruction and support for designated students under the supervision of the teacher.
• Performs nursing tasks as delegated by a Registered Nurse and implements behavioral strategies under supervision.
• Provides personal care, including oral hygiene, diapering, feeding, dressing and grooming as needed.
• Transports students when required and accompanies them to ensure care during transport.
• Works with students under IEP guidelines and supports classroom/special education staff.
