Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child growth and development and developmental behavior characteristics, particularly pupils with special learning needs.
• Behavior management strategies relating to pupils with autism.
• Appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
• Basic arithmetical concepts.
• Routine record storage, retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Assist individual students and small groups with learning activities.
• Administer intensive behavior intervention to students in a school setting.
• Confer with instructional staff and provide input to implement IEPs.
• Collect data and maintain progress notes; implement behavior modifications.
• Supervise students at recess, lunch, playground, and field trips.
• Assist in toileting and personal care as needed.
• Maintain a safe learning environment.
• Perform related duties as required.
