Job summary

Irving ISD invites a dedicated special education teacher to provide learning activities and experiences tailored to students' abilities within their most appropriate environments. You will develop and modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned with the district's standards to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Responsibilities include creating IEPs, implementing behavior interventions, collaborating with families and staff, and delivering purposeful instruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and valid certification in Special Education.
• Endorsements in Special Ed EC-12 required.
• Experience or training with students who have significant behavioral needs.
• Ability to develop IEPs and participate in ARD meetings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parents and staff to develop IEPs.
• Develop and implement all elements of students' IEPs per timelines.
• Create social and academic programs aligned with IEPs and district curriculum.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation.
• Implement and monitor the district's behavioral system.
• Support social skill development and cover other duties as assigned.
