Job summary

Providence Public Schools seeks a SPECIAL EDUCATION BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION PROGRAM TEACHER ASSISTANT to support students with behavioral needs and assist teachers in delivering inclusive instruction. The role requires collaboration with educators, behavior coaches, and school staff to maintain a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include reinforcing positive behavior, supervising students, and assisting with toileting, dressing, feeding, and other personal needs as directed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits required for consideration.
• Passing score on ParaPro test (461) acceptable for eligibility.
• RIDE Certification: Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily and long-range lesson planning under teacher supervision.
• Support small groups of students and supervise during activities.
• Help develop social-emotional skills and reinforce behavior strategies.
• Assist with supervision in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and field trips.
• Attend ongoing professional development as offered.
