Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conduct learning exercises with small groups of students.
• Guide students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
• Assist with supervision of pupils in classroom, corridors, yards, lavatories, cafeterias, and on field trips.
• Assist Pre-K through 5th grade students with toileting, dressing, feeding, positioning and self-care, with diaper changes as needed.
• Correct students' work under supervision and assign additional work to remediate weaknesses.
• Distribute and collect educational materials and assist with formatting for distribution.
• Support teachers in implementing behavior strategies and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Attend ongoing professional development sessions offered by RIDE, PSD, and Local Union 1033.
