Job summary

Providence Public Schools seeks an exceptional Pre-K Behavior Support Assistant to join our team at Anthony Carnevale Elementary in Providence, RI. The role focuses on implementing individualized behavior support plans for students with significant needs, in structured settings, including crisis interventions.

Requires an Associate’s degree or 48 college credits or passing ParaPro test; RIDe TA certificate preferred.

Qualifications

Requires an Associate’s degree or 48 college credits or passing ParaPro test score 461.
RIDE Certification: Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate.
Proven ability to implement individualized support plans and document progress.

Responsibilities

Assist with data collection for individual student programs.
Apply behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports.
De-escalate and manage crisis situations using CPI strategies.
Monitor and document behavior during crises and transitions.
Coordinate with teachers and service providers to meet student needs.
Provide training to paraprofessionals in behavior management and data collection.
Support bus monitoring and lunch/transition coverage as needed.
Contribute to a positive learning environment and staff collaboration.
