Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and ESEA Highly Qualified by the stated criteria.
• Two years of college study or an associate degree as proof.
• Must have passed the Praxis exam for Paraprofessionals as approved by the Ohio Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with educational and social development of students under teachers' guidance.
• Support implementation of Individual Education Plans and monitor progress.
• Provide student support inside and outside the classroom to enable participation.
• Collaborate with professionals (speech therapists, counselors, OT/PT).
• Maintain student records in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Support students with emotional or behavioral needs and help develop social skills.
• Assist with toileting and hygiene needs as required.
• Provide general duties when a student is absent and perform other duties as assigned.
