Job summary

LOGAN-HOCKING SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a 5-day, 6.5-hour Attendant for Green Elementary to assist students with special needs under supervision. The position requires 18+ years of age and ESEA Qualified credentials; multiple education paths satisfy the requirement.

Responsibilities include aiding with education and social development, implementing IEPs, and coordinating with therapists and teachers while maintaining student records. Lifting up to 50 lbs is expected and professionalism is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and ESEA Highly Qualified.
• Associate degree preferred, but HS diploma/GED acceptable.
• Completed at least two years of study (48 sems or 72 quarters) verified by transcript.
• Obtained an associate or higher degree from an accredited institution.
• Must have passed the Praxis exam for Paraprofessionals as approved by the Ohio DOE.

Responsibilities

• Assist in educational and social development of students under teacher guidance.
• Assist in implementing IEPs and monitor student progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom.
• Coordinate with speech therapists, counselors, and PT/OT staff.
• Maintain student records with classroom teachers.
• Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and develop social skills.
• Assist with toileting and hygiene needs as required.
• Perform other duties when the student is absent.
