Job summary

LOGAN-HOCKING SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a 5-day, 6.5-hour Multi-Handicapped Aide for Central Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year.

The aide will assist students with disabilities, follow instructions, lift and position students, and support the classroom teacher with materials and records.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (associates preferred) and an Ohio educational aide certificate. The role requires patience, reliability, and a team approach.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred but HS diploma acceptable.
• ESEA Highly Qualified as listed on the job description.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform physical care including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene; ability to lift and move students.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules, regulations, and policy.
• Assist students with disabilities including transferring, lifting, or positioning.
• Assist in feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
• Adapt to each student’s medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Develop motor skills with individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Keep the teacher informed of student needs and problems.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Support administrative records and required reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Communicate with principal and teachers regarding absences.
• Monitor students using individualized programmed material.
• Support the special education teacher as programs are implemented.
• Supervise students during learning activities per teacher directions.
• Prepare materials and equipment before student arrival.
• Assemble classroom materials and assist with bulletin boards.
• Supervise arrival and departure of students.
• Monitor students in cafeteria, restrooms, hallways, playgrounds, trips and events.
