Job summary

Harmony Public Schools in Houston is seeking an Assistant Teacher-Special Education for the 2026-27 school year to support students with special needs under direct supervision. Responsibilities include aiding in classroom instruction, supporting ARD/IEP-related tasks, and helping implement individual education plans.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 48 college hours preferred.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Texas Educational Aide Certification preferred or the ability to acquire it.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teacher(s) with student academic goals, working with small groups or an individual child.
  • Assist with enforcement of classroom management and behavioral plans.
  • Supervise students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, and events.
  • Assist with ARD/IEP paperwork and data collection for special education reports.
  • Help plan and implement differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
