Job summary

Harmony Public Schools' Harmony Science Academy - City Place in Houston is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide intervention and instruction to students with behavioral disorders, implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and collaborating with ARD teams.

The role involves planning lessons, collecting data for IEP progress, and partnering with parents and staff to support student growth, while maintaining compliant records and delivering engaging instruction in a dynamic PK-7

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Texas teacher certificate in Special Education and content assigned.
Experience in a special education classroom setting (preferred).

Understands and supports Harmony Public Schools’ mission, vision and values.
Models and instills a love of learning.
Implements the special education behavioral program adopted by Harmony Public Schools.
Teaches replacement behaviors per students’ Behavior Intervention Plans.
Collects data to measure progress on IEPs and to develop standards-based IEPs.
Attends ARD meetings and prepares ARD paperwork for assigned students.
Plans and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials for student engagement.
Maintains records, communicates progress to students, parents and staff.
