Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will work with the teacher to deliver individualized services, monitor progress, and reinforce learning using SESI’s CASE framework. You will collaborate with teachers to implement the SESI model, support diverse learners, collect progress data, and communicate with parents while helping create daily plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group instruction and implement the SESI academic rotational model.
• Collaborate with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks, using data to tailor materials, and conducting one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and providing accommodations and modifications as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies and ensure student safety.
