Job summary

Douglas County School District is hiring an Education Assistant IV for the Significant Support Needs (SSN) program at Timber Trail Elementary. The role provides intensive, individualized support, including mobility, health monitoring, and life-skills instruction, under a licensed teacher’s guidance.

Experience assisting students with significant cognitive or physical disabilities is preferred. The position emphasizes safety, independence, and positive engagement within a structured classroom

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions to implement IEPs and health plans with fidelity.
• Commitment to student dignity, safety, and independence.
• Assist with personal care, toileting, and mobility with appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Health, Mobility & Safety: assist with positioning, transfers, mobility with equipment; monitor delegated health care procedures; maintain safe learning environment.
• Functional & Life Skills Support: assist with IEP goals, academics, communication, social and vocational skills; support daily living activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
