Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support diverse K-12 students with special needs. You will work with a teacher to deliver small-group instruction, reinforce skills, and track progress using SESI’s PBIS CASE framework.

Responsibilities include behavior support, data-driven instruction, and collaboration with staff to tailor educational experiences. The role involves classroom-based work with potential for professional growth across SESI's national

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) preferred for advancement.
• Experience with students with special needs in educational settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction using the SESI rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks and using data to select materials; conduct one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and guided independent study, with accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management to ensure student safety.
• Support daily lesson planning and progress tracking toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure monitoring during transitions between locations.
• Collaborate with other teachers and service providers to address student needs.
