Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support students with disabilities in general or self-contained classrooms. You will assist in implementing IEP objectives, monitor behavior, prepare instructional materials, and coordinate with teachers and families.

This role involves adapting activities, providing personal care support, assisting in meetings, and helping maintain student records to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualifying paraeducator assessment or higher education credentials.
• Experience or training aligned with paraeducator duties and IEP implementation.
• Ability to support instructional objectives and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities to include all students.
• Assists in evaluating progress and organizing student needs.
• Administers first aid and medical assistance as required.
• Assists students with personal care needs as needed.
• Attends meetings and communicates with teachers and parents.
• Implements behavioral plans and supports student safety.
• Maintains instructional materials and student files.
• Monitors students across various school settings.
