Job summary

North Allegheny School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant to support identified students at North Allegheny Intermediate High School. The position is seven hours per day during the school year, with starting pay aligned to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and benefits.

Starting hourly rate is $20.70, and qualifications include 48 post-secondary credits, an Associate's degree, or completion of the ParaPro Assessment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 post-secondary credits or an Associate's degree or completion of ParaPro Assessment.
• Clearances required: Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check, Mandated Reporter Training, pre-employment Physical and TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services for identified students in regular and/or special education environments.
• Collaborate with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers to support academic, emotional, social, behavioral and physical needs.
• Assist with transportation, documentation, and behavior management as needed.

The District seeks candidates to fill aSpecial Education Assistantposition at North Allegheny Intermediate High School, effective date October 5, 2026.
A Special Education Assistant will provide support services for identified students assigned to select regular and/or special education environments and will work collaboratively with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers to provide students with academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and physical support.
Special Education Assistant positions work 7 hours per day during the school year only.
Starting Hourly rate will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The rate for the 2026-2027 School Year is $20.70/Hour with a comprehensive individual benefit package available.
Minimum Requirements Include 48 credits of a post-secondary education, Associates Degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
Current clearances are required and include:

• Child Abuse History Clearance
• PA Criminal Record Check
• Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse Training
• Successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment Physical and TB Test.
