Job summary

North Allegheny School District is seeking Special Education Assistants for Peebles Elementary School, effective August 13, 2026. Assistants provide targeted support to students across academic, emotional, social, behavioral and physical domains, working with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers.

Positions run 7 hours per day during the school year. Starting hourly rate is $20.70 with a comprehensive benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include 48 credits of post-secondary education, an Associate’s Degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
• Current clearances are required: Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check, Mandated Reporter training, pre-employment physical and TB test.

Responsibilities

We seek candidates to fill multiple Special Education Assistant positions at Peebles Elementary School, effective August 13, 2026. A Special Education Assistant will provide support services for identified students assigned to select regular and/or special education environments and will work collaboratively with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers to provide students with academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and physical support.

Special Education Assistant positions work 7 hours per day during the school year only. Starting hourly rate will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The rate for the 2026-2027 School Year is $20.70/Hour with a comprehensive individual benefit package available.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include 48 credits of post‑secondary education, an Associate’s Degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
