Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant (Program) (EBD) for Bryn Mawr Elementary. The role supports students with disabilities, implements individualized activities, and helps promote independence and inclusion. Requires ParaPro and relevant education credits plus experience.

Position is at Bryn Mawr Elementary, with a 0.78 FTE schedule (31.75 hrs/week) and benefits including health and retirement options. Candidates should apply with resume and cover letter.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits in Education/Child Development or related field.
• ParaPro Assessment score of 460 or higher; preferred.
• Two years paid experience with children; or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students with disabilities in a learning environment.
• Assist staff to implement individualized lessons and goals for IEP/SAIL/FBA.
• Monitor student behavior and progress; document observations.
• Support daily classroom operations including transitions, meals, medications, and hygiene.
• Promote student independence and inclusive participation in activities.
