Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated instructional support paraeducator to work 1:1 with a student needing additional help. You will assist the teacher with instructional duties, prepare materials, and monitor behavior while applying targeted strategies.

Responsibilities include data collection, implementing behavior plans, assisting with personal care when required, and operating classroom technology such as smartboards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a teacher aide or working with children preferred.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and support individualized instruction.
• Physical ability to lift and assist students as needed.
• Good communication and patience with students and staff.
• Ability to operate common classroom technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher by performing instructional duties and preparing classroom materials.
• Supervise student behavior and implement behavior management plans.
• Provide individual instructional support and reinforce concepts.
• Collect and record student data such as skill practice and toileting.
• Operate computer and audiovisual equipment such as DVD and smartboards.
• Perform related tasks and clerical duties as required.
