Qualifications

• Experience as a teacher aide or working with children.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and work with individuals or small groups.
• Physical ability to lift, position, and assist students.
• Adapt to wide differences in student characteristics and abilities.
• Operate standard office equipment and audiovisual devices; learn basic medical procedures.
• Strong communication, patience and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 instructional support and prepare classroom materials.
• Assist teacher with activities across cognitive, language, motor, and daily living areas.
• Collect and record student data such as skill practice and toileting.
• Support behavior management and supervise students during centers.
• Assist with speech-related activities and language development as directed.
• Operate classroom AV equipment and support learning centers.
