Job summary

Alexander Elementary in Katy, TX is seeking a Clerk - SPED - Assessment to support Diagnostic Specialists, ARD Facilitators, and Speech Language Pathologists. Immediate starting date; 187 duty days; non-exempt; pay grade AS02.

This role prepares referrals, assembles audit folders, schedules ARD meetings and maintains confidential PEIMS records. Requires college hours or a high school diploma or GED, proficient typing, strong organization, and excellent communication skills.

• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Accuracy in record keeping and form completion
• Ability to keep information confidential

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of confidential audit folder filing system and access by staff
• Prepare paperwork for initial referrals and reevaluations
• Assist in assembly of audit folders on new referrals and newly enrolled students
• Order special education forms and organize storage
• Assist with obtaining special education records on new transfers
• Schedule ARD meetings and notify staff via Outlook calendars
• Assist with ARD notices in the management program
• Secure trained interpreters for evaluations and ARD meetings
• Assist with parent/guardian contact to encourage attendance at ARD meetings
• Maintain PEIMS documentation files
• Assist with exchange of audit folders between campuses
• Attend Diagnostic Clerk trainings and inventory testing equipment
• Provide Personal Care as identified in IEPs
• Other duties as assigned
