Job summary

Heritage Academy is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist the Special Education Teacher and support scholars in a friendly, orderly environment. You will help students with behavioral, academic, or physical needs while aligning with Heritage culture and values.

Responsibilities include collaborating with teachers, documenting progress on goals, attending events, and applying positive behavior strategies. Prior experience in education is preferred, and fingerprint clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of experience in an academic setting preferred.
• Fingerprint clearance required per ARS 15-512.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers; support duties may occur in other classrooms.
• Assist students in general and special education settings (behavioral, academic, or physical needs).
• Attend Open Houses, school events, and All Faculty Meetings as scheduled.
• Document students’ progress on goals in academic and behavioral plans.
• Provide behavior support, de-escalation strategies, and positive feedback to students.
• Identify student needs through formal and informal assessments.
• Maintain a secure learning environment through classroom discipline and supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
