Job summary

Qualifications

• Satisfy ACT WorkKeys/NCRC or Paraprofessional Assessment Test requirements.
• CPR and First Aid training required.
• Meet district health and citizenship requirements.
• Board-approved alternative qualifications may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the SPED teacher, work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist teacher and support behavior intervention plans, if applicable.
• Modify materials and help prepare/maintain classrooms for teaching and learning.
• Assist with transitions and daily routines (lunch, bathroom, specials, nurse clinic).
• Aid in lifting and assisting students for safety; assist with toileting needs as appropriate.
• Collaborate with PT/OT/SLP/vision/orientation specialists to support student needs.
• Help maintain student records and confidentiality.
• Complete required state/local LEA paraprofessional training and universal precautions training.
• Participate in professional development and additional training as required.
• Demonstrate care for students and willingness to learn.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
