Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of the special education teacher, works with individuals and/or small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Assists the teacher and supports behavior intervention plans.
  • Modifies materials and assists in preparing and maintaining classrooms for teaching and learning.
  • Adheres to schedule, assisting students with transitions (lunch, bathroom, specials, nurse).
  • Collaborates with related service providers to meet student needs.
  • Maintains student records with confidentiality and tracks progress.
  • Completes required state paraprofessional or LEA training and yearly safety training.
  • Participates in professional development and other required trainings.
