Job summary

Texarkana ISD Parks Elementary in Texarkana, Texas seeks a Special Assignment Aide Self Contained in Special Education. You will assist in implementing classroom programs, support students with disabilities, and work under the supervision of a principal or certified teacher. Requires a Texas educational aide certificate; associate degree or 48 college hours or pass equivalency for HQ status.

CPR/First Aid/AED certification may be required. One year experience preferred.

Qualifications

Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
CPR, first aid and AED certification may be required.
One year experience working with children in an instructional setting preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
Patient and calm demeanor required.
Basic academic skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation of classroom programs including self-help and behavior management.
Work under supervision of principal or certified teacher.
Support students with disabilities in a special education setting.
Follow verbal and written instructions from supervising staff.
Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
