Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; 48 college hours or meets NCLB requirements; Texas instructional aide certificate.
• Special knowledge: ability to work with children with disabilities and to communicate effectively.
• Experience: some experience with children in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical disabilities, including transfers and positioning.
• Support teachers with instructional materials, displays, and classroom organization.
• Maintain records and assist substitutes as needed.
• Supervise students during meals, buses, and transitions; promote safe behavior.
