Job summary

Southwest Allen County Metropolitan School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Lafayette Meadows Elementary School to support students in special education and general education settings. The role involves preparing instructional materials, implementing IEPs, and assisting with life and vocational skill-building activities under the direction of teachers.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework (60+ hours) or an associate's degree preferred.
• Previous classroom assistant experience desirable.
• Be able to lift 50+ pounds and pass a lift test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials as directed to support IEP goals.
• Assist with direct/indirect student support in SPED and general education.
• Support life skills and transitions, including supervision during community activities.
• May assist with personal needs of students, including bathroom assistance when required.
