Qualifications

• Certified teacher in the state of Indiana.
• Teacher certification in specific area of exceptionality as regulated by the State Professional Standards Board.
• Highly qualified in math and language arts.
• Proven experience working with students with special learning and behavior needs.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the use of computer assisted instruction including adaptive or assisted devices.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be considered as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Instruct identified special education students in the least restrictive environment.
• Provide direct services in a special education setting as indicated in the IEP.
• Assist the general education staff in ways to meet learning and behavior needs of students across settings.
• Provide supervision to paraprofessionals.
• Work interdependently with special education related service staff in meeting IEP needs.
